About Warren

I have been in the mortgage industry for 17 years now. I entered the industry after being in the automotive financial industry for many years. I was hired by someone who also came out of the same industry. I saw the mortgage industry as a natural step in my career. This time around though, I felt I would really be helping consumers achieve their dreams of owning a home or put themselves in a better financial position through a refinance. I went to Boston University where I attended the Business School of Management majoring in finance and analysis. Since the mortgage industry requires this knowledge it was a natural fit. I am married with 2 grown children and 1 step son. I am a big football and hockey fan but enjoy many sports. I enjoy travel and getting together with many friends. I grew up in Newton, MA and currently reside in Waltham, MA

What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I do a complete question and analysis to see exactly what the customer's wants and needs are. Many times after asking these questions I can point them in the proper direction to choose the correct mortgage for them
Tell us about a mortgage product that consumers may not be aware of?
Many homes in the Northeast (saw over 60%) need updating or repairs due to age. Most consumers are not aware that a renovation loan exists where the cost of repairs go into loan. Many potential home buyers walk away from a property because it needs work even though they love the neighborhood and basic house. The other product is Mass. Housing which many don't offer. It allows low down payment with no PMI!
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
At the very start, provide needed paper work upfront before they find a home. This way they are truly preapproved and know what their budget is. In addition, do not apply for any other type of credit until after closing and do not increase present balances on credit cards. Avoid large deposits and transfer more than 60-90 days prior to making application unless you have the documentation to back it up. Cash is no good in the mortgage industry so don't do large depsoits with cash as it is not counted.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
To see happy and excited clients close on a mortgage transaction and see their dreams fulfilled.
