What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
I treat my borrowers with professionalism and respect. The better I understand a borrower’s goals and what they are looking to accomplish with their home loan, the better I am equipped to tailor a loan to their specific needs. Customer service first is my goal.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
First time home buyers are my favorite! The best advice I have for a first-time home buyer is to obtain a pre-approval prior to shopping for a home. The pre-approval is the first step in the home buying process and one of the most important steps when purchasing a home. A pre-approval is the roadmap that provides a borrower the tools to allow them to shop for homes efficiently and effectively, and most importantly, within their budget. Buying your first home is a big and sometimes confusing process and knowing what you can afford helps bring things into focus. Remember, applying for and receiving a mortgage is probably the largest financial transaction most people will ever conduct.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
As a Mortgage Specialist, it is my job to be sure that I set proper expectations for my borrowers throughout the entire process. I encourage all my borrowers to ask questions and make sure they understand all of the forms that are needed for the loan process. For the underwriting and loan approval process to go smoothly, I personally walk my borrowers through all their specific documents that are needed to ensure them that the process will be as seamless as possible. Ultimately, time is of the essence for a successful transaction.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
Working as a Mortgage Specialist means being a trusted advisor to my borrowers. I strive to help my borrowers achieve all of their goals during the loan process. Helping my borrowers become a homeowner and participate in the American Dream is a rewarding experience. My borrowers know that they can always count on an honest and transparent answer from me about any of their concerns during their purchase or refinance transaction. At times borrowers can feel overwhelmed in the process and I find it most rewarding to be able to ease their fears and make their experience as painless as possible.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I’m a big animal person with two dogs and two cats. It gets a little crazy in our house with all the animals but I couldn’t get through the day without them. I see myself surfing in my retirement and still working to help borrowers with their home loan needs.
