Guaranteed Rate Kicks Off Summer with “Groovy†Disco Dash
Guaranteed Rate kicked off the summer last week with its second annual Disco Dash. During the sold-out event, over 2,000 participants of all ages took part in the 5K and 10K races to the beat of disco music, many decked out in styling ‘70s attire.
The race saw heavy competition in all groups, with Tyler Zwagerman coming in first for the 5K race (at 17 minutes flat) and Timmy Vazquez taking home the top 10K prize (at 34:59) in the men’s division. In the women’s division, Heather Prekop took the 5K prize (at 17:50), and Sue Dehaan was the winner in the 10K race (at 41:56).
Pictures from the race can be found on Guaranteed Rate’s Facebook page at http://facebook.com/guaranteedrate1.
Afterwards, participants enjoyed food, beverages and live music well into the night, with Soldier Field as the backdrop.
“We couldn’t be happier with the way the Disco Dash turned out – a fun-loving crowd that competed on a scenic course during a gorgeous summer evening, all for a great cause,” said Victor Ciardelli, President and CEO of Guaranteed Rate. “We look forward to hosting this event in the years to come.”
The race benefitted The Peapod Project, an organization dedicated to supporting and guiding families who find themselves in the tragic situation of losing a child. Established in 2007 by Ted and Annette Stenstrom, the charity is now successfully operating at the Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Visit www.thepeapodproject.org to learn more.
