    >> PARTICIPATION RATE IN U.S. FELL IN AUG. TO 62.8% FROM 63.2%
    -- BLS ADVISING THE SHUTDOWN HAD NO IMPACT ON REPORT
    -- PRIVATE PAYROLLS RISE BY 212,000, MANU JOBS CLIMB 19,000
    -- AVERAGE HOURLY EARNINGS FOR ALL U.S. WORKERS RISE 0.1%
     
    Hard to ignore or poke holes in the strength in these numbers.  Asset prices across the board are under pressure right now.  The dollar is weaker, S&P futures are off 7.20, and mortgage are getting hit hard.  Right now FNMA 3.5 are off nearly a point.  Will follow-up on this soon.
