Guaranteed Rate Adds Top Originator Keith Smith, Opens New Location in Austin, Texas Area

Guaranteed Rate, one of the ten largest retail mortgage lenders in the U.S., announced that top loan originator Keith Smith has joined the company and that it has opened a new retail location in the Austin area. The new retail office is located at 1250 S. Capital of Texas Highway, Building 3 in West Lake Hills, Texas.

Smith, who will serve as branch manager and vice president of mortgage lending for Guaranteed Rate, has been one of the top five mortgage originators in Austin over the past decade. Prior to joining Guarantee Rate, he was a branch manager for Wells Fargo Private Mortgage.

Founded in 2000, Guaranteed Rate has become one of the nation’s fastest growing mortgage companies by offering low rate, low fee mortgages and superior customer service. The company has approximately 175 offices nationwide, including six in the state of Texas and is licensed in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., and funded nearly $16 billion in loans in 2013 alone. The company recently announced an expansion of its operations in Texas, and has one other location in the Austin area in Lakeway.

Before becoming a mortgage originator in 2001, Smith spent 20 years in regional commercial banking in the Austin area. He also serves as treasurer and was a founding board member for the Mother Maryam Foundation for Humanitarian Development, which helps provide clean water, medical care, and educational opportunities in disadvantaged parts of the world. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
