#GuaranteedRateField media coverage
On August 24, we launched HUGE news- Effective November 1, 2016, Guaranteed Rate Field will be the new name of the White Sox Stadium. We signed a 13-year naming rights agreement for the team’s ballpark. In addition to changing the stadium’s name, we will be the official mortgage company of the Chicago White Sox.
We knew this would be all over the media, but we the response was bigger than we ever imagined! In just minutes, we were trending on Twitter. Guaranteed Rate was all over major media outlets, including the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, ESPN, Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated. In just a few days, there were over 75 original media placements about Guaranteed Rate Field. The news also got picked up on AP, and as a result, our news got picked up in over 1,000 media outlets total.
Journalists had great things to say about Guaranteed Rate and our CEO, Victor Ciardelli. Crain’s Chicago Business called Guaranteed Rate “Chicago’s hometown team”, because the new stadium name went to a local company that grew astronomically over the last few years. The Daily Herald, Pioneer Press and Chicago Sun-Times highlighted Victor’s journey from a local business owner to naming a MLB stadium. Mortgage trade outlets, including HousingWire and Chicago Agent, were also excited to share the news.
