What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
My goal is to be my customers trusted advisor. I have never been the typical sleazy salesman, because I feel that doesn't really help either the customer or the salesman. Listening to my customers needs is critical in understanding what will work best for their situation. I hope to build long lasting relationships that are mutually beneficial, by asking the right questions and then listening intently, then working through the process as friends, not as a salesman just looking to close the deal and move on to the next customer.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
The best advice I can give new or first time home buyers is to find a loan originator that you feel comfortable with. This is most likely the biggest purchase of your life and you want to be working with someone that you feel confident in and that is willing to walk you through the process step by step. Don't just settle for the first lender, shop around and find the one that is best for you.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
The biggest thing that borrowers can do to ensure a smooth underwriting process is to be cooperative. The entire process requires teamwork. It works best when the customer has bought into being part of the team and they help move the process along at a steady pace.
What do you enjoy doing most in your spare time when you are not helping people with their home loans?
What I enjoy doing most in my free time is spending time with my nephews and niece. I never thought that 3 little kids, that were not my own, would bring me so much joy and happiness. I could spend all day and night with them and never get bored or sick of it. It helps that they call me their favorite uncle, much to my brothers and sisters chagrin!
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
Something wacky about me is my nickname given to me by my nephews…. Uncle Wacky Zacky. I love being the fun uncle that always makes them laugh, no matter what.
