About Rebecca

I have been in the mortgage industry for 11 years, since moving here from California. At the time I was looking for a career that would allow me to help families and make a difference in my community and doing mortgages for clients who think they will never be homeowners definitely fulfills that requirement!

The first 10 years were spent living and owning homes throughout the Treasure Coast. Mid-2015 I decided to come further south and am now an official Palm Beacher! My favorite thing about living further south is being even closer to the beaches.

Being involved in my community and giving back has always been of great importance to me. I have been a part of United Way for 10 years and Toys4Tots for 9 years. Each week and for special events, I volunteer at the Palm Beach Children's Hospital - which is an amazing blessing - and I am currently on the Board of Directors for Children's Outreach, Inc., which provides a weekly food pantry to the public and clothes, shoes and books to children in need throughout the year, covering the entire Palm Beach County area. I truly feel that the more successful I am in my career, the more I need to give back to my community.

How long have you been in the mortgage business and what inspired you to get into it?
I have been in the mortgage industry for 11 years. Seeing a need for clients who might need guidance throughout their journey really inspired me to pursue mortgages and help more clients achieve that dream of homeownership.
Who is your typical customer and what questions do they typically have?
My clients all differ so greatly - whether it is a $50k loan to a $1M loan - most clients want to be treated fairly with transparency and proper guidance.
What specific steps do you use to help your customers find the best home loan for them?
Finding out what my clients future goals are - not just short term - often allows us to figure out what their best options are, and eventually helps with finding the very best program to suit their needs.
How long have you been in the mortgage business? What awards have you won?
I have been in the mortgage industry for 11 years. I have won the President's Club Award, $1M Producer Award & Top Producer Awards.
What advice would you give new or first time home buyers?
Understanding all of the facets that create a mortgage payment is one of the most important items I educate my first time home buyers on. Using actual listing comparables, I demonstrate how two homes with a difference of $50k in asking price can end up with the same payment once you factor in property taxes, homeowner's insurance, flood insurance and possibly HOA fees. Being informed is the only way to buy a home the right way.
What can borrowers do to insure a smooth mortgage underwriting process?
Providing as much information about their household, including previous jobs, alimony, child support, etc - all loan details which could cause delays during the loan process - and possibly the closing - if not disclosed in the beginning of the loan process.
What provides you with the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer?
My favorite kind of client is what I refer to as the "Real Life Client". Someone who has experienced the ups and downs of life - whether it was a Bankruptcy, job loss, divorce, short sale, pay decrease, etc. These clients have been denied by their own personal banks or even their current lenders if they own a home. Helping them through the process and showing them compassion while doing so is one of the most satisfying aspects of my job. I have had clients cry at my closings, overwhelmed with happiness, more times than I can count.
Tell us something that makes you unique or something wacky, yet interesting about you?
I try to make it a point to attend all of my closings. Other mortgage professionals think it is a little crazy - but I think it is important to be at the "finale" of the process. I typically bring a gift and a card and the furthest I have ever driven to a closing was Tampa - about 3 hours away. It made such an impact on the clients that we are still friends to this day!
